How to Select the Right Slushie Machine 

If you are getting a slushie machine for the first time, it’s totally normal to be like;

“Hmm, what should I look for before buying one of these bad boys? 🤔“

And It’s okay! I’ve been there too.

Now, here is the important stuff to consider while picking your perfect slushie machine.

Estimating Serving Demand

When choosing a slushie maker, consider the capacity or amount of liquid it can hold. 

You don’t want to buy one that is too big or too small. This will directly affect the number of slushie cups you can produce.

• Too Big: Spending bucks on something that you won’t even fully use.
• Too Small: Running out of slushies in the middle of a party or event.

Here is my recommendation for which of the above machines for slushies you should go with based on usage size:

Expanding Beverage Options

Slush machines can be used to make all kinds of frozen drinks – not just slushies.

However, the type of machine you buy will decide what other frozen treats you can truly enjoy.

Here is a table summarizing the three different design types of slushie makers and what they’re good for:

Freezer Core Slushie Makers	All-around option. Can make slushies, milkshakes, smoothies, and even iced coffee.
Steel-Blade Design	Better suited for making iced beverages and kids’ recipes. Not great for milkshakes.
Compressor-Based Machines	Can make anything from chilled drinks and juices to slushies and even ice cream.

Space Considerations

The size of a slushy machine is an important consideration.

Some models, specifically those compressor-based machines are not going to fit on a small countertop and may require dedicated space.

I recommend you check the LxWxH of the machine carefully before you buy it. 

This will ensure that you actually have enough room for the machine, its accessories, and any extra stuff.

Number of Bowls/Jars

If you don’t want to be stuck with limited choices, it’s important to figure out how many bowls/jars you really need.

If you are only gonna make one slushie flavor at a time, then a single bowl machine is sufficient. But if you want to make different flavors or recipes simultaneously, you will need a machine with multiple bowls.

Having more bowls/jars gives you the flexibility to make different slushie flavors at once. However, this will also make the machine heavier, take up more space, and use more power.
